NAHAN PRINTING: CONTROLS INTEGRATION THAT WORKS

When Nahan Printing, Inc. expanded their commercial printing operations into a 300,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, they contracted with St Cloud Refrigeration to design, build, and install heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Their project features a number of specialized requirements involving separate mechanical systems.

Complete Control

Our building automation package integrated these parameters within a central control system that ensures precise control of the production and workspace environments critical to the facility’s mission. Our automation unit controls a steady-state water-cooling system that runs through their large Heidelberg printing presses. It also keeps the humidity at a low constant in order to optimize the proper environment for paper handling. It allows Nahan’s managers to customize workspace temperature, humidity, and air flow within their Ink Systems laboratory and bindery areas.

Versatile Building Automation

Nahan Printing was already familiar with the reliability, efficiency, and versatility of our controls systems. What they learned in the course of the project is that the same server platform and software package can do much more. Our controls department set up access control to the building, and camera surveillance all on the same controls system.

Building Controls

The flexible, modular design of the t.a.c. Integrated Building System enables Nahan Printing to control physical access to all parts of the facility, a function that is critical for their clients with large-run, time-sensitive orders. Because their closed circuit camera surveillance is integrated into our controls, they have the advantage of a centralized management center of the workspace and facility campus that can respond to any situation or threat.
